HAITI NEEDS CRAYONS

They come
	in small packs,
     		     spindly wands
easily broken,
	     make pictures of houses,
		  mothers and fathers
pillared on both sides;
		    they colour
a future in primaries,
		    clear skies, sunshine,
		draw
bright shades
	     over the thunder,
	the dark
		drawn into rooms.
